This is why Ian Flynn is awesome. The first stretch of his run was all house keeping; tying up loose ends left over by the previous couple writers (Fiona/Sonic, Evil Sonic, etc), tidying up some extraneous lore from the Early Archie days that lingered on (number of Chaos Emeralds), & more or less pivoting away from some of the… ah, stranger decisions while bringing things closer to the game canon.
Now he’s course correcting Sally, making her far more like classic or SatAM Sally & distancing it all from the infamous SLAP. The whole gang is fun, the banter is fun, etc. Such a breath of fresh air!
Yes, nothing completes a wedding chapter like an invasion! Still, I’m glad for Antoine and Bunnie! Wow, Mogul’s gang sure went down like chumps.
