I can see why people were complaining about rushed story arcs. I love Soleil, but their parents gave up on being strict way too quicky. There’s just no way that would actually happen. If the writers needed to finish this arc quickly, they could have done something else? Soleil needs more development with their parents (and more character in general) or a different backstory IMO, it feels like at least four comics compressed into two.

As someone with parents who have high expectations for their child, I could really relate to Soleil; also, I love that they’re a non-binary character!! Great representation here!! A little miffed about Shadow’s treatment(dude, get your act together if you’re fighting an ally and PUNCHING A CHILD), I can (slightly) ignore since Soleil is so interesting; I hope Sega digs into the alter ego ‘Lunar’ later on; I actually reminds me of some stuff I’ve heard of DID; IDK if this would work or count, and I’m not going to say it’s 100% accurate(IDK much or anyone who has DID), but it has a lot of potential!!!

I dunno why ppl are saying Evan Stanley is a bad writer. She’s the one who did the Phantom Riders arc, and that was sick as heck.
I believe there’s a term for the lack of quality in her writing recently. It’s called a “slump,” and it happens to literally EVERYONE.

This is one of the weaker issues tbh. The soleil guy is not very interesting and the conclusion came out of nowhere
After reading this, I just have a couple of questions. One, I hear the comments talking about issue 84 being post frontiers which is cool and all but isn’t this story ark supposed to be from 81 to 100? It said so in issue 80.
Second question, will the next issue actually release on time this time? It’s hard enough to wait an entire month let alone two!

This was definitely a rushed story. I hope that if Lunar/ Soiel comes back, they dive deeper into the split personality aspect. I think the rushed feeling is due to issue 84 happening after frontiers, so they have to rush up and finish these story lines. Hopefully, after 84, we get something like the Metal Virus arc in terms of overarching story.
