i have two, but i am first saying that the events of sonic generations altered classic sonic's timeline where every modern sonic game never happens, because it leads, to classic eggman finding the phantom ruby, the creation of the hardboiled heavies, sonic 30th aniversary comic, fag the hunter 3 and 4 (because eggman saved them from drowning), sonic superstars, not to mention how classic eggman vowed to never become modern eggman (sort of)
Here's a theory: The yellow Chaos Emerald was returned to it's same spot by the same monster that Sonic and Tails took it from in IDW 68.
New hot take: chilidogs are made from Tails’ dead bodies
my second theory is that as soon as infinite touched the phantom ruby, he wasnt in control of his body, hence why he joined eggman so fast
wait when they said infinite was consumed by the phantom ruby did they mean metaphorically that could mean we could be seeing an entirely different side of him!
