Archie Sonic was so peak, man. IDW wishes it could have this level of worldbuilding.
@twistyverse I don't even like the reboot, I think most of it is really hard to get through. But it's still miles better than IDW. But pre-reboot Archie is the true peak of the Sonic franchise.
I disagree on the reboot being hard to get through but I personally enjoy both eras of Archie for different reasons.
The reboot had fun worldbuilding, it was basically an expansion of game canon. And it gave me Eclispe.
And preboot had a very good over-arcing story ending with Mecha Sally. Although I think the universe was a bit too big there, and you have to know it all to understand the story. But I guess that's that's the result of having 20+ years and dozens of different writers.
@twistyverse Archie Reboot, was gonna get a lot better, like Bunnie and Blaze! but yeah it is just a enhanced game canon
@ssx I'm not a fan of Bunnie being from the Sol Dimension. And even though it did have plenty of its own ideas, forcing the comics to be like the games is one of the reasons I can't stand IDW.

I agree. I think the fact that IDW is canon really holds it back from being good. Arcs can't have lasting effects lest disrupting the status quo.
Ideally, IDW should have stayed a split-off timeline after Forces.

@twistyverse I do love Eclipse, and I think reboot had good stories, but those all came from Universe. The main comic was just dull. And it just didn't have that spark of imagination that pre-reboot had. Sure, that comes from Sega stepping in, but it doesn't excuse boring writing.

All in all, I think both eras of Archie have their merits. Like I said, reboot had Eclispe. But preboot had Shard...
I can't say which one I prefer more but they're both definitely better than IDW.
@twistyverse I easily prefer pre-reboot, because one character can't save an entire era. But reboot is still way better than IDW. It's not even close.

Y'all are lucky. Next week Wednesday I'm back to school. 😭 Got my schedule today & my first period is math. When I was in elementary math was always my first class of the day. I'm destined for math to be first period of the day. 😔👍
