While the first issue is devoted to setting up the cast and plot, the second issue is devoted to setting up the characters, and frankly, I absolutely LOVE this issue. Nearly everyone’s struggles and motives are known and how they navigate through them as well. It’s emotional to say the least, it can be sad, but it can also be highly interesting and funny at times. And seeing the characters bounce off of each other insanely well is nice. I was skeptical of Hope at first but now I’ve highly warmed up to her and how well she works with Team Dark.
This is genuinely one of, if not the most engaging comics I’ve ever read.

That- that second cover is drawn in marker!!!??? Wow. I just did inktober for the first time this year so I have a new appreciation for how hard it is to do lighting with markers. That is so cool.
