This is… AWESOME. This is essentially Spaz pencilled, because while Yardley did the finished pencils, Spaz did all the breaksdowns & you can totally see the classic Spaz-Sonic look in numerous panels.
Getting the SatAM FF integrated into the story of Sonic 1?? Heck yeah.
Really, my biggest criticisms are super minor — I wish it still used “Robotnik” over “Eggman” though I understand why it did the change, that it was more of a legit story without the “something is wrong, deja vu but off” vibe but again I get why that is, AND I wish they had included Spring Yard instead of going straight from Marble to Labyrinth (though environment-wise, GHZ>MZ>LZ>SYZ/SLZ>SBZ does make waaaay more sense.
I THINK TAILS IS NEXT PLUS IM PRETTY SURE ITS GONNA SHOW HIS BACKSTORY 😭 I LOVE U TAILS (Guessing the big explosion from last year caused some sort of cataclysmic event resulting to a blast to the past)
