What a great issue. I LOVE Amadeus and Rosemary, what compelling antagonists. I don’t agree with them, but the way Amadeus carries himself in jail, like he’s the one with power while Elias shrinks away and is framed behind the glass like he’s the prisoner. That’s just excellent storyboarding! And Amadeus and Rosemary really love each other! They never want to be separated. But they still argue, Rosemary doesn’t want to leave Tails, but Amadeus believes their son can hold his own. But Rosemary insists that they not flee the city, that will only escalate tensions. They need to sneak into the castle and end this tonight by having Elias step down. And Amadeus listens to his wife, he just says they need to grab something from the house first. All of that is great. And Tails ripping out the wires to shut down Nicole’s projection? Stone cold.

My only problem then is Sonic. They cast him in shadow like a villain, and I get Sonic is arrogant, but this comes across like he doesn’t respect Tails at all. I’d like it a lot better if Sonic said “Tails knows I’ll do the right thing. He trusts me.” That way it still conveys that Sonic thinks Tails will always side with him, but he’s not looking down on Tails saying that he worships him.
