The most likely reason would prolly be that the Egg Grapes passively drain just enough energy to prevent the Mobians within from escaping while keeping the captives alive to listen to Eggman gloat (because he’s a freak like that).
It’s a subtle detail, but you can actually see cracks on the Egg Grapes containing Mighty and Bunnie, implying that even with that draining, those two are still *almost* strong enough to break out on their own.
