Man, Sonic almost died the same way Mako killed that waterbender in Legend of Korra! Sonic, break Eggman’s legs or something. -_- At least Whisper might be happy now.

The first art, the one with Tangle and Whisper, looks gorgeous. Also, Sonic looked so pissed at the last panel. Can’t blame him though. Poor Kit and Surge…They have so much trauma that they have trouble trusting people. I can relate to them on the trusting part—I find it difficult to trust others too.

Personally I think this is pretty clearly setting up for Shadow and Surge to get an arc together, once Sega lets up and allows Shadow to be a fully three-dimensional character again. Surge is a living experiment raised to be a weapon and forced into a villainous role, and Shadow could easily see a lot of himself in her – meanwhile Surge clearly needs *somebody* and it’s been made abundantly clear Sonic can’t be it. Combine that with all the allusions to Shadow 05 all over Surge’s stories and I think it’s pretty clear where things are going

I know some people don’t like surge and kit but I’m actually gonna be pissed if this arc just ends here cause you can’t just make a whole 4 part mini series before issue #50 introducing and hyping up these two and just have them ditch after like 7 issues into the actual arc. I hope the writers are thinking of something big cause I don’t want the arc to just end here.

They can’t just ditch the trauma children. They’ll be back, and probably, hopefully, get redeemed and reunited with any family they had
Abandoning them would be a continuity issue and just awful writing.

I know some people don’t like this arc but I was actually looking forward to some big climax and not just surge and kit retreating like last time. I hope the writers are thinking of something big cause I’d hate to see this arc go unfinished.

So… Why exactly did the comic need these two new characters? Why can’t we have stories about Shadow, Chaotix or literally anyone from the main cast?

I guess it is a case of “girl power” and such, and I see a lot of the artists that work on IDW calling especially Surge their new favourite, but… I don’t know. Not a fan neither, and don’t even get me started on Belle… x(
I am also a bit annoyed about the whole “handicapping” Sonic as a means to power him down. It is a bit easy and prevents the writers of coming up with ways for enemies to handle the blue blur on his full power. In the case of Shadow: he is a worthy opponent who is on the same level as Sonic and can often beat him without first having Sonic trip over something..
That said, Evan Stanly her own fancomic of Sonic, Shadow and Silver has more guts and inventiveness then what is allowed by IDW.
