The chipped Sonic ear and the way Amy hugged Sonic is making me headcannon that this story takes place before the 10 years later comic by Arsworld.
With that said, this is the only Sonic.exe based comic issue I’ve actually enjoyed. It didn’t feel needlessly violent, gorey, and edgy. It brought serious stakes with a dangerous villain, and dire consequences done in a mature, tasteful way.

Oh man, I just loved how Xenophanes turned out in battle, but Shadow disintegrating was really sad
