If such stories had more pages, and were not bound by stinking mandates, it would be possible to show things like this:
There could’ve been show her new for this universe uncle’s reaction to how “Uncle” Chuck implanted her with cybernetics to save her from death. Her uncle’s reaction is extremely angry, since Chuck doomed her to a life worse than death with such a distorted appearance. By the way, the scene where Bunnie wakes up and finds herself with cybernetics should be filled with genuine shock, fear and pain from these changes. This became the impetus for him to fight against Eggman radically, in order to avenge his beloved niece. It would have been possible to show that Bunnie’s friends, unlike herself, did not survive, and then there was their funeral, during which Bunnie thought with apathy about whether they were lucky to survive or not. At the same time, Bunnie herself was shamelessly bullied by evil bully boys. So much so that she was ready to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff right onto the rocks. But, her new friends – Antoine, Sonic, and the rest save her from this decision. Who accepted her despite her distorted appearance. And soon, according to Sonic’s plan, they properly mocked Bunnie’s offenders, laughingly humiliating them in front of the entire village. So Bunnie was able to overcome her pain and live on.
And her uncle, with my ideas, could have been an interesting villain, who along with his followers fanatically wanted Eggman dead. Who could have criticized Sonic for not trying to kill Eggman to end the war.

It’s interesting they retconned robotnik roboticizing her to be chuck in order to save her life. Make’s it so her character would naturally be less interested in “returning to normal”.
The pre SGW comics had just set up a whole thing with her agonizing over finally being “normal” again but missing the freedom and power of her old robotic body. This change makes her choice a lot more clearcut, but much less nuanced
